Star Trek Online, the Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game, has been warping players to the Final Frontier for over 11 years. The game’s art team has used modular modeling and unwrapping techniques in 3ds Max to create detailed starships that allow deep customization. STO’s Lead Ship Artist, Thomas Marrone, discusses how they build their ships to accommodate both flexibility, accuracy, and detail.

Join Maxime Jeanmougin, Bifrost Superuser and Technical Artist at PlatinumGames Inc., as he walks through how to bring richer, procedural workflows to more areas of your games pipeline.
